On May 14, 2014, 65 experts from 40 global, multi-national, and local organizations met at Singapore Management University for GFA's bi-annual meeting. Participants comprised logistics companies, manufacturers from different industries, as well as academia, associations, and NGOs. They came from various Asia-Pacific countries, such as Singapore, China, India, and Japan, as well as from Europe and the US.

The theme of the GFA meeting was ‘GFA Label - From Concept to Implementation.’

Among points discussed were:

- GFA and its positioning among other initiatives globally;

- findings from a label study outlining successful eco labels in other regions or industries;

- a review of the GFA label criteria, collected firsthand from companies that participated in a first GFA data submission test-run;

- details of the planned launch of the GFA Label, which is planned for the second half of this year.

The GFA meeting marked another important milestone on GFA’s path to implement the Green Freight Asia Label to, in turn, achieve greener freight practices in Asia Pacific.
